The National Hurricane Center designated Tropical Storm Francine on Monday morning, September 9, 2024.

Baytown, Texas, has a Coastal Flood Warning in effect from 10:00 pm tonight, September 9, to 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 11. For more information about Coastal Flood Warnings, please click here to visit the National Weather Service.

Tropical Storm Francine has formed in the western Gulf of Mexico and is forecast to become a hurricane threat to the Louisiana and upper Texas coasts by Wednesday, September 11. Possible impacts of Southeast Texas include heavy rain, strong wind gusts, coastal flooding, and dangerous marine conditions. The system may bring heavy rainfall to portions of our area on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, impacts from wind, seas, coastal flooding, and rainfall remain uncertain due to uncertainties in the track forecast.
